There are just two years (March
2014), Béziers became the largest municipality in France managed by the extreme right. Since Robert Ménard
was elected head of
the municipality, with support from the National Front, the city, famous for its
vineyards, its rugby team and its feria, radically changed its face.
Enhanced
security, cleaning
of neighborhoods, rehabilitation of downtown, more controlled immigration, return to
local traditions ... A political
earthquake that has had major
consequences on the daily lives
of Biterrois and divided the city into two opposing camps: pro-and anti-Ménard!
Sometimes this opposition is up to the confrontation...
How Robert Ménard, a
practicing Catholic from a Blackfoot
family from Algeria but also co-founder of Reporters
Without Borders, he transformed his city? And
why has it become the most
controversial mayor of France?
For six months, the Exclusive Survey teams
of M6 TV have settled in Beziers.
Robert Ménard has
allowed them to follow him on the
field, day after day, the town
hall to the difficult areas,
and it has nothing to hide his motives and
intentions.
The teams of
M6 also met many
Biterrois, very attached to their
city. Building Contractor, Sylvain was commissioned to renovate part of the city center that was previously in ruins, almost abandoned. Pierre,
he embodies the new Béziers with its chic
bistro, which run throughout the area. Owner of a prestigious castle, John is fighting for Béziers
finds his rank largest
wine producer.
But in Beziers, while others struggle to survive first. As these communities of origin North African, Gypsy or
Syrian in exile, who
feel unloved and excluded from Ménard system.
Unfortunately, there are the drug dealers that presuming help these unfortunate
communities to survive!
Beziers is
not yet Chicago but soon will be!
