Brussels: police lent their patrol car to Turkish demonstrators, an administrative investigation is opened (Video)

This July 16, during the attempted coup in Turkey, police allowed a Turkish protester using the loudspeaker on their patrol car, at the rally in support of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the embassy Street Montoyer in Brussels.

The scene was filmed for ten minutes that night. We clearly see a demonstrator using the loudspeaker of a police car. A scene that concerns about the duty of confidentiality that are supposed to keep police officers face of such an event.

"An investigation was opened to determine what service come from the police," says Ilse Van de Keere, spokesman for the police zone Brussels-Ixelles. "That night, our area received other police reinforcement’s areas and even federal. It is therefore impossible to say with certainty where the police officers concerned do, "she added.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the Turkish Embassy in Brussels, rue Montoyer, as the conflict between loyalists and putschists raged in Turkey.

Fabrice Voogt, spokesman for the mayor of Brussels Yvan Mayeur, confirmed that an administrative inquiry has been opened, but it will not make further comment at this time.

"It is too early to talk of sanctions," says Ilse Van de Keere. "The investigation will contextualize what happened. There is a good chance for whether a call for calm, "she explains.
