MIGRANTS-NEW PROVOCATION OF THE MAYOR THE BEZIERS

The mayor of Béziers Robert Ménard wants to hold a referendum on the reception of migrants in his commune. He also has edited municipal posters "That's it, they come!"
A new municipal poster Robert Ménard appeared Tuesday on billboards in the city of Beziers, a controversy appears, against migrants. "Migrants, they come!" reads the title, amid images of refugees. "The state imposes."
The pretext is the planned extension of the existing reception center of asylum seekers managed by Cimade in Beziers. "Nothing to do with the possible arrival of migrants from Calais jungle", say the state services, stigmatized, studying possible legal response.

The mayor of Béziers wants to organize a referendum.

But, the mayor of Béziers goes further by announcing a referendum that would raise the question of Béziers. A municipal consultation. For this, Robert Ménard must first obtain the approval of its board. It will be on the agenda next Tuesday, October 18th. And he will get it without problem.
The question will be: "Do you approve the installation of new migrants, imposed by the state without consulting the council?". A consultation of the opinion of the population, to be held on Sunday, January 7th.

On the merits, the mayor believes that even if these are not evacuated in Calais who will occupy downtown new rooms (forty), the reception center for refugees, it is still of migrants . And requests the support of the population against the State services.
Illegal consultation.

On the form, this consultation is likely to be illegal and never take place. A municipal consultation can cover one municipal jurisdiction, which is not the case here.

Final rest in a poster, a controversy, some trial and probably the media noise, as usual. Last year, the mayor of Béziers had played the provocateur by the one of its municipal newspaper with a photo montage and the slogan: "They're coming."
