Angola, a rich country with
25 million Angolans, 20 million live in poverty. Bravo PORTUGAL!
Angola has one of the highest
consumption of champagne per capita in the world: 240,000 bottles are sold per year,
almost all in Luanda. Of the 25 million Angolans, 20 million live in poverty.
Luanda is one of the most expensive capitals in the world. But almost 80% of Angola's urban population live in slums. Nearly 60% of households do not have access to drinking water sources. The epidemics of malaria and yellow fever began at the end of last year and have killed more than 14,000 people in the country.
In the last decade, Angola has recorded one of the largest economic growth in the world, but has remained a leader in infant mortality rates.
