All employees of the European
Commission, from drivers to secretaries, through MEPs and President Jean-Claude
Juncker, will have their salaries increased by 3.6%.
The news is advanced by TVI which points out that the increase of 3.6% will be
paid from the month of December, with retroactive since last July. Thus, the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, will earn 31 thousand euros per month, 27 thousand euros of basic salary, plus 4 thousand euros as support of travel, to live outside his country, according to TVI.
Next year, Juncker will win in this way, "another 20 thousand euros, including 6,600 euros in retroactive," the television station said.
But the increase is extended to all employees of the European Commission and TVI gives the example of a secretary who is at the top of the career who will see his salary rise to 4,600 gross euros per month.
To this amount, 736 euros are
added if you are outside your country, plus 273 euros as housing support and
397 euros for each child. You will also be entitled to a further 269 euros for
each child of school age.
In total, the employee will take home, at the end of the month, 6,000 euros gross, according to TVI's accounts.
Reacting to these wage increases, Union Syndicate member Félix Géradon believes that this is not a "good gift" for Christmas, stressing that "it is not even a recovery" in economic terms, and that it is merely "a reflection of what is done in the Member States "of the European Union.
The trade unionist tells TVI that in 2011, 2013 and 2014, there were no increases and that in 2012, there was only "0.8% increase" and "in 2010, 0.1%".

Since 2005 there was not
increase of minimum salary in France. I really feel sorry for the European
politicians… the poor people! They do not live in they own countries and what
they do for people like you and me I really think that they should get their
salary increased! Poor things!
Saisi!
