10 BREATHTAKING SUBSIDIES FROM THE CITY OF PARIS

The Paris Council - where more than one out of two deliberations is used to award grants - meets 9 to 10 times a year. This TOP 10 therefore only mentions one agenda.

The clientelism was not born, of course, with Anne Hidalgo. It already existed in Paris under the right of Jacques Chirac and Jean Tiberi. The budget for aid to associations was already substantial: 133 million euros in 2001, when Bertrand Delanoë took over the reins of the Town Hall ...

These particularly shocking subsidies are not only financed by Parisian taxes but also by the money of all French people through the general operating grant (DGF) paid by the State to local authorities.

Here is the list of 10 particularly shocking subsidies voted at the Paris Council in June 2017:

1/2 436 500 for the Parisian trade union organizations. This public support, in addition to the national funding of the trade unions, translates into an operating grant as well as the provision of premises at the four sites of the Bourse du Travail.

2/20 000 euros to the associations Hip Hop House (11th) and Ghetto Style Movement working in favor of Hip Hop culture.

Within the Hip-Hop House, we learn that "an artistic research center allows us to develop experimental laboratories in all disciplines: dance, graffiti, dj-ing, beat-boxing".

3 / 92,200 euros for three "social coffees" for elderly immigrants "to promote their integration into their environment, by learning French, access to rights and support in intergenerational exchanges and between immigrant seniors For a better autonomy. "
4 / 10,000 euros to the "Générations Cobbayes" association, which runs "Do it yourself" workshops where "young Parisians" learn how to create their own cosmetics ...
5 / 6,000 euros for the organization of workshops to awaken the law and citizenship in a primary school.

6 / 20,000 euros to the Rainbow Submarine association for the organization of the LGBTQ + "Chéris, Chéris" festival which affirms itself as a "committed festival, which gives to see and understand all aspects of homosexuality, Transsexuality and gender issues.

For the 2016 edition, several "erotic" films were broadcast, described on the brochure of the event as particularly "hardcores" (No Skin Of My Ass, Fuck Them All ...) ...

7 / 3,000 euros for the chess players of the Normale school. These students, however, benefit from a particularly privileged treatment being paid during all their higher education by the public money ...

8 / 5,000 euros for the association "European Parliament of Youth" for its project "Citizenship Do It Yourself", a simulation of the European Parliament on the theme of sustainable development.
9 / 10,000 euros for the Food Sweet Food association for its Refugee Food Festival, a traveling festival in Europe aimed at hosting refugee chefs in the restaurants of the participating cities.
10 / 12,000 euros to the association Réseau Action Climat-France for the creation of a new chapter of its Web-comic "Planetman against climate change".

In times of tax hype, rather than going to seek more and more public money, these subsidized associations could operate by the subscriptions of their members and the patronage!
