GREECE RAISES TAXES AND CUTS PENSIONS




Greek Parliament approved budget for 2016 focused on savings.
The Greek parliament approved today the State Budget for 2016, the first designed by the Government of Alexis Tsipras, the document focused on savings, worsening of taxes and expenditure cuts, especially on pensions.

The proposal, which takes into account the third rescue, was only approved with the votes of the ruling coalition, formed by Syriza (left) and the nationalist Independent Greeks (right), which was rejected by all opposition.

Speaking in parliament, Tsipras said the budget prioritizes social justice and sets the foundation for a return to economic growth, and ahead now "redistribution of wealth".
