MASON FORMS IN LAW AFTER PEDALING 42 KM A DAY TO STUDY (BRAZIL)




More than 40 years and many challenges need to be traversed to Mason Joaquim Corsino perform his dream. At 63 years old, beca dress and forming hat, he received late on Thursday (17) in Victoria, his undergraduate degree in Law.

To realize the dream, Mason Corsino Joaquim dos Santos pedaled daily between Cariacica, where he lives, to Victoria, where is the law school where he studies. The distance, about 21 kilometers between one city and another, did not discourage the student. "I want to be police chief," he said

Born in Itaumirim, Minas Gerais, Joaquim came to the Holy Spirit to 18 years. With over 20 completed a technical course in administration.
But after failing to pass the entrance exam of Accounting at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes) in 1980, he had to leave the books to work. From then on, Joaquim began working as a bricklayer's assistant and later as a bricklayer.
Still, the desire to study was always present. Therefore, every wall erected by Joaquim, part of the money earned was saved. In addition to building his home in Bandeirantes, Cariacica, Mason joined over the years R $ 55,000 for the studies.
"I'm a guy who likes honesty. Always wanted to do a law course to help others, "says Joaquim, who in 2008 started a degree in a private college. Four periods were completed, but Mason had to postpone the dream for a while.

"A friend asked R $ 4,500 borrowed and not paid. Then I had to quit college to add more money to pay the whole course, "he said.
In 2012, Joaquim returned to graduate and never stopped. Every day he made the trip from his home to college in Victoria, with his bicycle on a journey of 42 km.

And it deceives those who think that to the degree the saga of overcoming Joaquim comes to an end. Law bachelor's eyes are focused on the future. His next goal is to be approved by the Bar Association of Brazil (OAB). Then aims to become deputy.
"When I read the Constitution in article five, which says that all have equal rights, I see you have a lot of good in it and I would like to contribute to this."
