Currently under house arrest
in Toulouse because of his supposed dangerousness, Farouk Ben Abbes, received
compensation of 6,000€ from the State for prejudice moral.
According to the
newspaper Parisian, this Islamist also received an overpayment of 15,000€ paid
by the administration based on a bad court decision.
Arrested in Cairo in 2010,
the Islamist had spent three months in detention between 2010 and 2011, on
suspicion of preparing an attack against the Bataclan the auditorium, before
being granted a dismissal "for lack of sufficient evidence".
March 3, 2014, a judgment of the Paris Court of Appeal recognized Farouk Ben Abbes moral damages in the amount of 6000 euros in compensation for the three months in detention. The judges of the Court of Appeal also decided to compensate the "material injury" to its corresponding legal fees, a bill of 20,000 euros.

The Department of Justice files an appeal before the Court of Cassation. On 13 January 2015, that court will reject the material damage Farouk Ben Abbes, but valid moral injury. Or to the State, a final bill of 6000 euros, excluding court costs.
By mistake, the National
detentions repairs Commission takes into account the decision of the appeal
court, and not the decision of the Court of Cassation. The paying agency of the
Ministry of Justice and pays on behalf of the Islamist 21,950 euros (increase
due to the addition of late payment).
According to Le Parisien, Farouk Ben Abbes would have "failed" to report the overpayment to the administration, it would soon claim him. The man, who now lives in Toulouse, would have pocketed 21,950€ on the backs of taxpayers, of which 6 000 for non-pecuniary damage.
Because of its danger, the man is under house arrest at his home in Toulouse, since the attacks of 13 November 2015. Soon after, it will violate this assignment and will be sentenced in March 2016 to three months in prison...
