For good milk production, the dairy cow needs to be
raised once a year.
As an example of the number of animals killed in this breeding process, in a
farm in Rolândia (Brazil), 90 calves were born each year, 80 of which were
slaughtered and the rest sold for a low cost.
Only in Paraná (Brazil) it is
estimated that 300 thousand calves are sacrificed per year at birth. The
industry's proposal to deal with this reality is to encourage the production of
veal. A calf lives for only 6 months.
During the life of a dairy cow (which can last from 6 to 10 years depending on
milk production), it can be discarded for several reasons. In a study,
representing the region of Arapoti / PR (Brazil), during the study period, 22%
of the cows were discarded as described below:
The three main causes that account for almost 70% of dairy cow slaughter are:
32% Reproductive problems - since a cow that does not reproduce has no milk, it
is discarded;
18% for locomotive problems;
18% For mastitis and other inflammation - remembering that there is a minimum
acceptable criterion for counting somatic cells that indicate inflammation and
therefore cows with small inflammations are considered "healthy";
And those who survive this process are taken to slaughter
when the milk production falls.
And finally, a cow can live in average 20 years and in the industry many do not even reach a third of this time.
Cows are "modulated" with HBG (bovine growth hormone or pregnancy hormone) so that they can produce more milk constantly. Currently dairy cows live only 6 years instead of 20 years and milk production, compared to 50 years ago, increased by 250%. Only with this information should we imagine that there is something wrong, this is not natural.
Well, at the moment the cow is treated with HBG and it becomes falsely pregnant, obviously a whole metabolic process occurs in your body, in addition to producing much more milk, obviously has an increased production of hormones. Hormones that are found in milk and which in turn are consumed by all of us. Which is bad for everyone’s body.
