Maradona has made a strong
showing tonight in Nigeria - Argentina. The former footballer reacted to Rojo's
winning goal with a touch of honor. Moments later El Pibe de Oro was sick and
was taken to the hospital.
Argentina did not really
make the show tonight, it is rather Maradona who took care of it. While
celebrating Messi's goal with a prayer in which he seemed to go into a trance,
El Pibe de Oro reacted more explicitly after Rojo's goal. The cameras had
already seized his excitement, head in hand, on the Nigerian EQ.
After his celebration of
the liberating goal of Rojo (86th) El Pibe addresses two fingers of honor
brandished conspicuously on camera, accompanied by a fat insult, easily
decipherable on his lips ("Putos").
Again an excessive gesture made by the most extravagant man in the history of football. Not sure that this gesture leaves in history the same trace as its famous "hand of God" in 1986.
It was undoubtedly too much emotion for the "Pibe de Oro" which then made a discomfort, according to images diffused on Twitter and filmed since the tribune. We see Maradona supported by a man and taken to a VIP box to calm his mind.
