"Macron must answer in front of the country": Holland calls the "yellow vests" to "continue to speak"

The former President of the Republic, François Hollande, met Thursday, November 29 "yellow vests" in Antraigues-sur-Volane in Ardeche, on the sidelines of a private visit, inviting them to "continue to speak up, "reports France Bleu Drôme Ardêche.


Two visits had been scheduled to Antraigues-sur-Volane during his quinquennium, both were canceled. Francois Hollande caught up on Thursday, November 29 during a trip to the village of Jean Ferrat. The former president first went to the cemetery to lay a wreath on the singer's tomb, before going home.


On the sidelines of this private visit, the former head of state also took time to discuss with "yellow vests", came to meet him. In a video posted by France Bleu Drôme Ardèche, the former president defends the results of his quinquennium. The meeting was cordial and peaceful.


François Hollande first recalled that he had set up the CICE (Tax Credit for competitiveness and employment) and that he had given a boost to the Smic “minimum wage”. He then encouraged them to continue the fight: "We must continue to speak and make it happen because it has to come out," he advised the handle of "yellow vests". He suggested that they organize themselves to discuss with the public authorities. He said "assume" what he did during "all his five years". Then, he mentioned the current President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron: "He makes his choice, he makes his orientations, he must answer in front of the country," he said.
